Luma is a 9m long snail who loves an audience. We drew inspiration from the extraordinary range of flexing and contorting motion found in bio-mechanics to give Luma a beautiful movement. Her presence as she looms above visitors is gentle, welcoming and otherworldly. From Bristol’s fertile ground has sprouted something new and strange. Part fungus, part creature, at a giant fairytale scale… Gigantic, inflatable and illuminated creatures are wrapped around trees and lampposts (or truss), inviting passers-by to play by hugging, squeezing or poking them.
