Squeeze Me
From Bristol's fertile ground has sprouted something new and strange. Part fungus, part creature, at a giant fairytale scale...
Gigantic, inflatable and illuminated creatures are wrapped around trees and lampposts (or truss), inviting passers-by to play by hugging, squeezing or poking them. Using pioneering soft robotic technology, the fairy ring of creatures respond with synchronised shape-change, vibration, light and sound.
The work premiered at the Playable City Showcase in Bristol from 4 - 9 July 2023, and is now available to tour. Please get in touch with us for information about booking Squeeze Me for upcoming events. The work can be battery-powered, so we can install Squeeze me almost anywhere!
Audience quotes:
“Soothing, surprising and nourishing.”
“Pleasantly horrifying"
“It felt real - like a monster from an 80’s film”
